Arts at Stanford

The arts are thriving at Stanford with three new arts buildings and innovative arts programming for the campus community.

Stanford Arts Initiative

The Stanford Arts Initiative, launched in 2006 as part of The Stanford Challenge and successfully concluded in 2011, was a university-wide effort to enhance strengths in existing arts programs, create new arts facilities and opportunities for students and faculty, and integrate the arts throughout the life of the university. Much has been accomplished in five years and Stanford faculty and staff continue to move the arts forward.

The Summer Arts Institute is the latest initiative created to highlight the interplay of art, science, and creativity in the heart of Silicon Valley. At Stanford, students don’t have to choose between their love of the arts and their dedication to a chosen academic field.
